![]() ![]() I must’ve been having a good day and forgot. I’d say it’s been fine for me and I’ve been on 2mg for just over a year and 4mg for a month or so.ĮTA: I just remembered that breast tenderness is the worst side effect for me so far. I do have fatigue but I’m not sure that can be linked to the dienogest as there’s so many other factors at play and everyone seems to respond differently. I already had dry skin and live in a climate with very dry winters, so I don’t know if that’s a thing for me. On dienogest, I have had a reduction from intense daily pelvic pain to more dull and cyclical, which is why I’m trying the double dose, to see if those flares can be mediated. From what I understand, there’s no need to bleed ( placebo pills in birth control were introduced to mimic a menstrual period so people didn’t freak out but it’s actually just a withdrawal bleed). My doctor and I are happy to “turn off” my menstrual cycle indefinitely while I wait for a surgery slot. I am also taking dienogest (2mg 2x/day as per my gyno who is considered a newish specialist in endo) and have never heard the “reset” option. For now I think this is something of a success, thank you everyone for advice! I know that prolonged use of any medication can have some side effects and while I know I should take a break at some point if recommended at present I really can’t afford to go back to the way things were. The dose I’m on is very small (2mg) but it is enough to stop periods and has had a marked improvement on my life already, I’m very concerned as to if I would have to go back to the way things were.ĭoes anyone have any advice or perspectives? Has anyone else used progesterone pills to deal with endometriosis on here? Please let me know.ĮDIT: I got in to see him and got the prescription extended! I used a lot of the points some of you made and he was very receptive shockingly! Kinda a strange change in behaviour from last time but hey good news is good news. This is the same doctor who diagnosed me so I’m very confused as to why he would think that. The only problem is that my doctor is wanting to take me off of these pills and he believes that by ‘taking a break’ from having periods and going back to having them will basically do the equivalent of turning your computer off and back on again, and maybe they won’t be so bad. I have also struggled with a great deal of mental health issues and have found that the combination of meds I’m on has done wonders for my mental health. ![]() ![]() I still get near constant mid-level pelvic pain but honestly my quality of life has improved so much since starting these meds. Hi! I’m 19, been diagnosed with endo for just about a year now, and since then I have been put on progesterone birth control pills to fully stop my period so that I don’t experience some of what in my experience have been the worst symptoms I’m dealing with. ![]()
